5 Hot First Date Styling Tips for Women

First Date Styling Tips

By James Preece

One of the things people will judge you on in your clothing. What you wear is an outward projection of the type of person you are and your personality. This is especially true when it comes to dating. Men can be incredibly quick to judge a woman and make snap decisions about them based on their clothing. So it’s important that the first impression you make is a great one.

In this short guide, I’m going to tell you exactly what men find attractive so you can make sure you have the optimum wardrobe.

Dress for YOU

Firstly, you should never dress just to please a man. I want you to dress how you wish, as long as it’s appropriate to the situation. At the end of the day you need to wear something you feel sexy and attractive in which also flatters your figure.

Have one or two outfits ready for when you go out dating. If you know what you are going to wear in advance it’s one less thing you need to worry about.

Use Make-up Sparingly

Women are more fortunate than men as they have the added advantage of using make-up to cover blemishes and improve their looks. However, be careful that you don’t overdo this and use your beauty products as a mask. Too much make-up is a big turn off so keep it light. Some blusher, eye shadow and a good lipstick are all you really need. Your eyes and mouth will be getting the most attention so you want them to count.

Top Tip: Red is always associated with passion and romance so your lipstick or outfit should be a deep red colour.

Ditch the trousers

Ditch the trousers

Stick to a skirt and you’ll be taken much more seriously as a dating prospect. Leggings just look like you can’t be bothered to make any effort. Research shows that men see women in skirt as much more successful and confident.

If you can, pair it with some heels but keep them under 3 inches to maximise the effect.

Leave some to the Imagination

No matter how amazing your legs or cleavage are, you don’t need to put them on display during a first date. If you try to show them off too much with short skirt or push up bras then you’ll just scare some men away. You don’t have to completely cover them up but a little hint is much more subtle.

Wear clothes that flatter

There are some useful tricks and tips that you can use to ensure you look wonderful no matter what your body type. If you choose clothes to fit you’ll always look your best:

Petite: Go for vertical stripes which can make you appear taller

Thin: Choose accessories which are horizontal – such as necklaces or belts. They will give the impression you are that tiny bit wider.

Larger Build: Wear an outfit that is all one single colour. Your top matches your skirt rather than contrasting against it.

Now that you have a better idea about what you should be wearing, it’s time to start lining up the dates. Sign up to one of the fantastic online dating sites we have listed on our guide and you’ll be out meeting gorgeous men in no time.
