Why Halloween is the Real Holiday of Love

Halloween and loveBy James Preece

For singles, there are several key times of the year to maximize your chances of getting a date. Christmas is the season of parties and celebration, while New Year is the time for new beginnings. Then, of course, Summer is when we feel most like getting out there and dating. However, did you know that one of the most overlooked dating opportunities in your calendar is actually Halloween? Let me tell you exactly what you need to do in order to make the most of it.

Check out a Scary Movie

All the best horror films come out around Halloween, so there’s always something brilliant to go and watch. They are the best choices for you to take a date to as watching them helps the brain release the same chemicals as falling in love. Obviously, they’ll be quite likely to watch to grab on to your or hold your hand. What more could you wish for?

Go to a Theme Park

If you have one near enough, a theme park is even better than going to the cinema. That’s because many of the best ones – such as Thorpe Park – push all the stops out to make it the most exciting night of the year. They set up special rides and themed entertainment, so the experience will be quite unlike anything you’ve ever done before. Riding a rollercoaster in the dark turns the fear factor – and fun – up to the maximum level of enjoyment.

Cook a Halloween Feast

Spend time together cooking up a themed banquet and then share it together by candlelight. There’s many things you can do – such as pumpkin soup, hot dogs, cookies in the shape of vampires. The more outrageous things you can come up with then the more fun it will be. Don’t forget the drinks, too, perhaps with a splash of food colouring to make it look like blood. A little imagination can go a long way.

Take party on a Ghost Hunt

Some of the supposedly most haunted places in the country hold regular ghost hunts. This is where you walk round in groups, investigating what may or may not be lurking in the shadows. They are really good fun and make a great first date as you won’t run out of things to talk about. You’ll try interesting experiment and learn about the history of the building. It doesn’t matter if you believe in ghosts or not, you’ll have a fantastic time either way. You never know, you just might catch a glimpse of something spooky!

Go to a Halloween Party

These parties aren’t just for kids, plenty of adults do them. A few decorations and cocktails can make the evening really special and of course you’ll be able to meet lots of new people. It’s your chance to dress up and show the world how much fun you are. If you don’t know anyone who is holding one, then throw your own. Tell your single friends to bring their own single friends and you’ll soon have a crowd full of possibilities. Whatever you do, remember that Halloween only lasts for a day. So make the most of it as it will be a long time before it returns. I hope you found this article useful.
